Busy times ahead

What’s going on with this weather? Especially as we get nearer to opening night of Imogen at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. Wet times ahead.

With the excitement of Imogen building up over the last month, Billy Elliot still touring around the UK and Wicked set to start fitting up in Singapore next week, it’s been a busy time.

Oh and Christmas is just around the corner.

Freedom at the Manchester International Festival….then two came along.

After a long period of meetings and rehearsals at the National Theatre, Wonder.land is finally packing up and heading to the Manchester International Festival. It’s looking like a fantastical production with great music and a lot of energy. The cast and creatives seem to be having a lot of fun which is always a good sign.

On top of that, we’re now involved in The Tale of Mr Tumble at the Opera House in Manchester. A very different show but very much looking forward to be working with the team.

I guess Manchester will become a 2nd home for most of the next month.

Busy Festive period but finally Christmas is over.

After a busy Festive Period of Pantomimes and Christmas shows, January looked to be quiet. Things soon picked up though with another Production of Peter Pan at the Old Rep in Birmingham, followed buy a Production of The Wizard of Oz in Bournemouth. Now the dust has finally settled and the final box of Christmas kit is being emptied today. Now Christmas is over for another year. With Rig Checks a plenty and the continual movement of the Wicked UK Tour, things are ticking along but if there are any new productions looking for assistance with their performing needs, do get in touch sooner rather than later. Next Christmas is already looking full.

Then 3 come along……..

It’s been a busy year so far and it’s looking like carrying on that way. With Cosi Fan Tutte and Bevenuto Cellini now open at English National Opera, we have the final week of rehearsals for the last in the triple bill, Pearl Fishers. Reviews have been strong for the first two and the third has a magical 3 minute opening with a beautiful flying sequence created by our very own Lee Stephenson.

The Wicked Tour has completed it’s epic move and following run in Glasgow and is about to open in Leeds.

Rehearsals are about to start for Monty Pythons Live show, though details of the show are of course top secret.

This year is really running away. Before you know it, it’ll be Christmas and time for Pantomime season.

New year, New Premises

Happy New Year one and all. To add to the excitement of 2014, we’ve moved premises. We are still in Nonsuch Industrial Estate, Epsom but we’ve moved to Unit 14, a mere 200m away. Phone Lines should be up by this weekend so normal contact will soon be resumed.

Rusalka in Dublin

Having previously worked with Glyndebourne Opera to create flying effects for their production of Rusalka in both Glyndebourne Opera House and Slovenia, we jumped at the chance to work with Lyric Opera on their short run at the Gaiety Theatre in Dublin. Not only is Dublin a great place to work but the company is a pleasure to work with. It’s only the 2nd day of flying rehearsals and all 8 people flying are looking great in the air and the effects are starting to come together.

Wicked UK and Ireland Tour

After months of hard work building a new system and vigorous testing of our Raynok controlled fully automated system, the Tech rehearsals for the UK and Ireland tour of Wicked are nearly over. With Previews starting this Thursday, the Best of luck goes to both cast and crew on what is sure to be a massive hit on tour.

Billy Elliot The Musical

After a long period of rehearsals, our automated system is now live on Billy Elliot the Musical in London. With a new cast of Billy’s the challenge was finding a system that could accomodate the varying heights and weights of the boys. Good Luck to all involved.

Summer…..or the rainy season!

Now that Summer is finally with us, or was with us….where did it go??? A busy year is in progress. With shows at Glyndebourne Opera in full rehearsal, Charlie and the Chocolate factory now previewing and rehearsals underway for Automating the flying on Billy Elliot in London, it’s now time to look towards the Wicked UK and Ireland tour.

Charlie and The Chocolate Factory

We can now reveal our involvement on the World Premiere of Charlie and The Chocolate Factory. Needless to say we are excited about this production and looking forward to the new challenge. Although providing a cunning restraint device rather than performer flying, this new show has a lot of buzz about it.
