Freedom Flying is a company set up by Ben Haynes in order to continue his work within the performer flying industry, whilst pursuing the quest for greater and more spectacular flying effects.

Ben worked with Flying by Foy for twelve years and felt the time was right to move on and begin to take on new projects as an individual. During his time at Flying by Foy Ben was involved in many productions in Theatre, Television, Film, Pop Videos, Ice Shows, Photo Shoots, Corporate Events and many more.

Whilst understanding how important the flying equipment is to the effect, we are also very aware of the importance of the choreography of the effect and are always looking to try something new and experiment with artistes and choreographers to design new flying effects.

Safety is an increasing cause of concern for many people these days and understandably so. We have spent a considerable amount of time in the last few years discussing these matters with the British Standards Institute (BSi), Association of British Theatre Technicians (ABTT), and various other organisations to come up with an acceptable new standard for Performer Flying.

We have also designed a comprehensive paperwork package supplied to all clients with all the information that we believe they need to know, and we would be happy to discuss anybody’s concerns.

In the past few years there have been more companies working in the performer flying industry than ever before, but with more than sixteen years in the business, we are confident that we can make experience count. Lifting somebody off the ground can be the easy part, getting the performer to look like they are flying can be another matter altogether!
